Our Story

We’ve been providing incredible wedding services since before the turn of the century. In 2024, we moved operations from our home state of Wisconsin to the Florida Panhandle.

Our founder Chris Truitt got his start in the business without ever intending to. As a techie and sound man, he agreed to DJ a family member’s wedding. Guests at that wedding asked if he’d DJ theirs, and it expanded from there.

A few years after that, a DJ client asked if he knew of any unconventional officiants. Chris became ordained, gave them the ceremony they wanted, and the officiant side of the business took off. He changed the name from Edge DJ to You Had Me At I Do.

In 2024 he hung up the headphones to focus on ceremonies. He absolutely loves officiating, and just couldn’t give it up.

And yes, our name is absolutely a reference to that famous line from Jerry Maguire — you truly had each other at “I do.”
